16:00-17:00【Shifen Old Streets】Shifen Old Streets is a collection of lanes and alleys in and around the Shifen railway station area. Originally built for transporting coal during the Japanese era, the station and track runs straight through the village. With the marketplace surrounding the train station and the openness in which people can freely cross the track running straight through the center of town, the marketplace area of Shifen is a great place to grab some snacks and some souvenirs. And for the highlighted event – Sky Lantern Festival; people usually write their wishes on the sky lanterns because it is believed as the lantern fly into the sky; it is a way to pass on your wishes to gods above.
18:00-20:00【Jiufen Old Streets】Jiufen village used to be the center of gold mining. This small village is located within hills, next to the mountains, and facing the ocean. Due to its special location, Jiufen village is well known for its foggy weather condition which creates a romantic atmosphere. It features an old street that is full of local snack vendors and special accessory stores. Various foods such as “Yu Yuan” (taro balls), fried meat balls, steamed taro cakes, and herbal rice cakes, are the Jiufen’s specialties. In addition, Jiufen has beautiful sceneries that tourists came to drink tea during night to appreciate the night view.
21:00-22:00【Raohe Street Night Market & Ciyou Temple】The Raohe Street Night Market covers various kinds of booths for general merchandise,accessories and yummy snacks, all at low and affordable prices. By looking at the booths with queues of people, it is not hard to find out the most popular snacks. You absolutely don't want to miss snacks like: Stew Ribs in Chinese herbal Medicine, Crispy Pepper Pastry Cake, Steamed Bun, Oyster Noodles, and all kinds of cold drinks. You can't forget the Spicy Stinky Tofu,Beef Noodle, and Tempura. Last but not least, Ciyou Temple, a triple-tiered temple, is built in 1753 and is dedicated to Matsu, the black-faced Chinese goddess of seafarers. It marks the start of the Raohe Street Night Market and is one of Taipei's busiestand most colorful temples. You can choose to end trip at either Ciyou Temple or Ximen.
